Australia Day is the most happening day on Sydney Harbour when not only the harbour but the harbour sky also is spectacular with various events and displays. On Australia Day, Sydney commemorates the arrival of the First Fleet of 11 convict ships from Great Britain in 1788 and the raising of the Union Jack by Captain Arthur Phillip at Sydney Cove.
Watch the exciting Ferrython , a ferry race of four First Fleet ferries appearing in their colourful best. The race starts from Fort Denison and speeding around Shark Island finishes at the Harbour Bridge. The race is Sydney’s way of proclaiming the greatness of Australia and all that’s Australian!

Enjoy the Australia Day Parade where a wide range of watercraft including yachts, boats, ships, barges tall ships, cranes and ferries vie for the title of the Best Dressed Vessel. It is a wonderful experience to see the vessels sail from under the Sydney Harbour Bridge to sashay around Clarke Island and back, decked up in their best.

View the awesome aerial display of the Royal Australian Air Force FA-18, one of the most amazing events of the day. Watch the breath-taking fireworks display.
